Trek Pu Luong Nature Reserve Cycle Tam Coc Hanoi and Kayak Halong Bay (7 days)
The 7-day multisport tour includes such highlights as trekking Pu Luong nature reserve, cycling Tam Coc, cruising, kayaking Halong bay, biking Hanoi. The tour is customized by Lotussia Travel for family travel and active travelers. The difficulty of the tour is medium allowing lots of people to join in. Day 1: Hanoi – Maichau – Puluong Nature Reserve.Trekking to Hang village (L,D)
7:30: You will be met up by Lotussia Travel team at your hotel in Hanoi (Please advise your hotel name).
Depart for Pu Luong Nature Reserve. This scenic drive takes around four hours. Along the way we pass fields of tapioca and sugar cane as well as rice paddies.
Lunch will be provided in a stilt house in Poom Coong village, Mai Chau.
Following lunch, we drive further into the reserve where we begin our trek. We trek for approximately three hours before arriving at the Thai village of Hang.
We spend the night with a local Thai family who will be our host in a traditional house on stilts. Whilst enjoying their hospitality we will discover a little more about their lives and culture.
Day 2: Trekking from Hang village to Kho Muong village (B,L,D)
Today we will walk for about six hours. Along the way we pass through several Thai villages and hamlets before arriving at the village of Kho Muong. As the name suggests this is a Muong minority village and we will be their guests for the night.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.
Day 3: Trekking to Pho Doan. Travel to Tam Coc (B,L,D)
This morning we set out from Kho Muong and trek for roughly three hours and a half before arriving in Pho Doan townlet where your lunch will be provided in a local house.
After lunch, we will take a motorbike-taxi and travel to La Han ferry where our car will be waiting for us for our journey to Tam Coc (“Halong bay in-land”).
Upon our arrival in Tam Coc, we will check into a local hotel (simple accommodation). Dinner & overnight in Tamcoc.
Day 4: River boat trip. Countryside cycle. Return to Hanoi (B,L)
After breakfast, we will have a two-hour boat trip along the Boi river.
The river trip in Tam coc is wonderful for photo hunters, especially when local people come to harvest the water rice planted along the river, or when they transplant some seedling for the next crops. The tourists often compare the place with Guilin – China, or more closely, to the limestone islets of Halong Bay in the Tonkin Gulf for their similar geological structures and shapes.
Then enjoy about one or two-hour bicycle trip through Tam Coc rural villages before arriving Hoalu ancient capital. Hoa Lu lays in a flat valley surrounded by the Trang An limestone mountains, which form a natural wall protecting the old citadel.
Lunch will be provided in a local restaurant.
After lunch, we will travel back to Hanoi.
Day 5: Travel to Halong bay. Boat cruise. Sea kayaking (L,D)
8:00: Get on our shuttle bus (sharing) and enjoy the journey through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta and the scenery of rice fields, and everyday Vietnamese village life.
Arrive in Halong around noon and board the Bai Tho traditional sailing junk (or similar). Whilst cruising the exquisite waters sample the regions fresh seafood.
Round over Thien Cung cave (palace of heaven), Dau Go ( grotto of wood ), Tuan Chau island, Dog island, Dinh Huong, Ga Choi (fighting cock mountain), Turtle island.
Enjoy one-hour kayaking trip on the emerald waters of Halong bay or swim at Titop beach or Soi Sim beach.
Watch the sun set over the bay whilst enjoying a delicious dinner. Overnight on board junk.
Day 6: Return to Hanoi (B)
Wake up early and visit the Sung Sot cave.
Get back to the boat-house and have your brunch (breakfast + lunch) while the boat is cruising back to Halong City.
Disembark at the dock at Halong City at 11:00 and transfer back to Hanoi.
Arrive back in Hanoi around 15:00. Check into your hotel for overnight.
Day 7 : Hanoi countryside cycle (L)
7:30: Travel west of Hanoi to visit Duong Lam village, a purely agricultural village of the Northern Red River delta where still preserve many hundred-year-old houses. It will be your unique experience as you walk along tiny ancient alleys.
Upon arrival at the village, visit Mong Phu temple in Mong Phu hamlet – the only hamlet whose original village entrance gate remains intact, dedicated to national heroes. Have some talks with the locals in their ancient houses by visiting the ancient houses of Mr Lam, Mr Ha and Mr Huyen.
Enjoin your special lunch with Vietnamese foods in an ancient house.
After lunch, enjoy a short cycle to the Mia Pagoda, is built in 15 th century and admire 287 statues of all sizes, among with are famous sculpture such as the statue of Buddha in the Himalayas and the statues of the Eight Vajra Deities.
Then we continue cycling to Ngo Quyen temple and Phung Hung temple, places dedicated to two national heroes Ngo Quyen and Phung Hung. After visiting these two temples, we will get on our vehicle again and drive back to Hanoi. Trip ends.
